Glasgow Rangers

If you have ever traveled to Glasgow, Scotland or watched soccer, you may have heard of the Glasgow Rangers. It is a soccer team that was first developed in 1872 by four people, two brothers named Moses and Peter McNeil; as well as Peter Campbell and William McBeath. They decided to name the team the Glasgow Rangers after an English rugby club they stumbled upon in a book. The team’s first year was played by a friendly match against Callander F.C. It came out to a 0-0 draw. Another friendly match was played against a team called Clyde, which had a result of a victory for the team at 11 to 0. They were then featured the debut of the blue strip by the club.

Between 2006 and 2007, the Glasgow Rangers was managed by Paul Le Guen, replacing Alex McLeish. Paul Le Guen made a large number of signings for the club right away; he also released and transferred multiple players. The beginning of this season, there were many losses and draws for the Glasgow Rangers, which was playing against lower level leagues. This caused the Glasgow Rangers to be knocked out of the League Cup. At the top of the table was Glasgow Ranger’s rival, the Celtic. The Glasgow Rangers tried to make second place, along with the Hearts team. As the season progressed, things looked promising for the Glasgow Rangers, including the beating of the Hearts, Aberdeen and Hibernian.

Since 2007, Walter Smith returned to manage the team. The former player All McCoist who was previously cut from the team was brought back. On January 10, 2007, Smith was named manager of the Glasgow Rangers and McCoist was assistant manager.

The colors of the Glasgow Rangers’ uniforms are red, royal blue and white. The Glasgow Ranger’s home strip consists of a royal blue shirt with a trimming of white and/or red. Their socks are black with red turn-downs and their shorts are white. Sometimes the team alters the color combinations of their uniforms, such as white socks with royal blue shorts. The overall colors of the Glasgow Rangers remain the same three colors, red, royal blue and white.
