The Burrel Collection - 2060 Pollokshaws Road
Sir William Burrel donated to the city of Glasgow in 1944 a massive and rather excellent collection of art which this millionaire collected during his life. Some of the art includes Greek and Roman artwork and religious art. If you would like to see a large variety of different types of art then please do visit the Glasgow Burrel Collection.
The Burrel Collection is open to the public Monday through Thursday and on Saturday from 10:00 until 17:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 until 17:00.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum - Argyle Street
One of the leading art museums in Scotland is most certainly the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum which was constructed as a home for the 1901 International Exhibition. Some of the artwork include pieces by famous artists such as Rodin and Van Gogh.
Opening hours at this wonderful Glasgow museum are Monday through Thursday and on Saturday from 10:00 until 17:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 until 17:00.
Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art - Queen Street
The Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art opened its doors in 1996 and has been one of the most visited Glasgow museums ever since. The Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art houses four different galleries which each carry a different theme. If you are visiting Glasgow with your children then you can certainly take them along to this Glasgow museum as many kids seem to enjoy their time at the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art.
